Department of Rehabilitation Services

INTRODUCTION

The Department of Rehabilitation is one of the professional departments in the Ministry, the department is saddled with the responsibilities of caring for the mentally unstable persons, the destitute, the Deaf and Mute, and the physically Challenge persons in the Society. There are three main units in the department they are: –

FUNCTIONS

  1. Mentally disadvantage persons Unit
  2. Physically Challenge persons unit
  3. The Deaf, Mute and the Destitute persons unit
  4. The mentally disadvantage person unit is solely responsible in taking care of all roaming lunatics in our society and over the state, it is their duty to raid and take Inmate raided from the street to any of the 14 Herbal Healing Home approved by the Government for confinement and treatment.
  5. The physically Challenge Unit deal with persons with any form of physical deformity there by making them to have a sense of belonging in the Society by way of involving them in all Government activities lined out for them.

 

The Department of Rehabilitation is headed by Director whose responsibilities are to see to day to day running of the Department, He report directly to the Hon. Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary.
